This morning as I sat in church, I felt the weight of all the ways I have fallen short: as a wife, as a mom, in my devotional life, and so many other things. My kids are home for the summer and they don’t listen to me, but rather spend their energy screaming at each other.
With the fatigue of chemotherapy, watching kids, keeping kids fed, not to mention my day job, I’m exhausted at the end of the day and being there for my husband is difficult.
Paul tells the Galatians that they have “fallen from grace” because they have been trying to to be justified through the law rather than faith in the finished work of Christ.
If you were able to do it on your own without God’s help, then Jesus died on the cross for nothing.
As I sat in church this morning and felt God’s love and strength wash over me, I remembered once again that God DOES give us more than we can handle. He does it so that we might not rely on ourselves, but on God who raises the dead (2 Corinthians 1:9).
The same God who formed the heavens with a whisper and knit you in your mother’s womb is capable of strengthening you with HIS power to overcome every obstacle in front of you.
